My favorite way to relax is to jump out of aircraft!
Started skydiving with a static line jump out of a Cessna 182 on 16 December 1995 at Pudding Hill, Canterbury, New Zealand. (Photo) (Now known as the NZ Skydiving School) Due to typical New Zealand weather changes and pudding hill being where it is, I only managed 3 more jumps at pudding hill during 1996.
In 1998 the Christchurch Parachute School (Same DZO as Pudding Hill) opened at the just closed Wigram Airforce base in the middle of Christchurch city... 5 minutes from where I worked and lived.... had a few "Extended" lunch breaks!
2 May 1998 I made my first 'A' License Jump (Jump #31)
Dec 1999 to June 2000 - Was in the USA studying, gained my USPA membership and jumped at Skydive Lake Elsinore and Skydive Lake Tahoe a few times.
1 April 2001 was my 100th Jump - and when I got my NZ B License.
24 August 2001 - Jump 112 was my last recorded jump in New Zealand (I know I did a few more in 2001/2002, but they were not logged so don't count)
The Majority of my jumps in New Zealand were in Christchurch, but also manage to jump in Ashburton, Motueka and an Easter Boogie in Queenstown.
Got married... which ended Skydiving for 8 years!
19 September 2009 - Jump 113 - Not long divorced, severly overweight and decided to get some fun back in my life so did my currency jumps in Boulder Colorado, USA at Colorado Skysports. Applied for my USPA 'A' License.
March 2010 - Moved to Chandler Arizona and started jumping at Skydive Arizona which is currently the largest dropzone on the planet.
End of September 2010 - 217 Jumps total - 104 Jumps in a year and had my USPA 'B' license.
20 August 2011 - 300th Jump - fun jump with friends! (Photo)
12 November 2011 - Obtained my USPA Coach Rating!
Gained My 'C' and 'D' ratings.
Completed Tandem instructor training
Completed about 800 jumps before ended up in a Car wreck that put me out of commission.... hoping to get back into it once I have recovered.
A video of one of my Skydives.... will change these on occasion.
Here in Arizona there are a few drop zones, one of them is the largest in the world, the rest are smaller.
