What is a Kiwi?
Below is a Kiwi, an endangered flightless bird of New Zealand....
Below is a yang tao, aka chinese gooseberry that was rebranded "Kiwifruit" for export.
It was named after the bird, because it looks a little like it.
A New Zealander is also know as a Kiwi, named after the bird because both are unique to New Zealand.
What About Kiwi Mike?
Mike is a New Zealander that now lives in Gilbert Arizona in the U.S.A.
He has many friends and collegues that are also called Mike.
One evening there were three or so Mikes in the same room so his friends started calling him "Kiwi" to save the confusion of which Mike they were talking to..... It Stuck.
Also being a skydiver and regularly jumping and Mike being a very popular name, he decided to add "Kiwi" to the front of his name on his jump tickets. Now there is no confusion at all because manifest calls for "Kiwi". Also the same at other drop zones in the area.
